About .cl Domains

The .cl country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents Chile.

Domain names can be up to 63 characters, with a minimum of two characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except at the beginning or end of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.

1 Registration requirements

  • The administrative contact for the domain must have an address in Chile
  • An RUT ID number must be provided

2 Renewal restrictions

There is no manual-renewal or auto-renewal grace period. Explicit renewals are allowed at any time up to 29 days past expiration.

When the status at the registry is Awaiting NIC response, the approximate terms for such updates are declared within 7 days.

5 Contact update requirements

To update the following registrant contact fields for your .cl domain names, contact our support department:

  • Organization (company name)

You can update all other domain name contact information through the Domain Manager in your GoDaddy account.
