I have Deluxe Web Hosting Windows here at GoDaddy. I have a number of websites and decided that it was time to add SSL so folks wouldn't be worried about being "insecure". I don't do any transactions or anything - they are purely informational. Yesterday I bought a UCC SSL for 5 sites. I went through the process of setting it up and somehow ended up screwing something up. All of my websites (including the ones that were *not* added to the SAN list) were not accessible. GoDaddy support was great and fixed that but none of the sites were showing as https. I went and poked around the settings and saw that on the DNS Management page there is a place to set forwarding. Is this the place I should make the setting change to forward to https? It has the forward type and setting. I really want to get this done right and now blow anything up again.
(EDIT) I should add that I've checked the certificate and it shows as valid and installed (using the SSL Tools/Certificate Checker). I'm lost as to how to actually get my websites to show as secure. From all the material I read up on before purchasing the cert, I thought that it would be a relatively simple process - based on the available information. Is there any type of straight forward instructions on how to get a website secure?
Nothing loads - it just gives a page that says:
"Future home of something quite cool
If you're the site owner, log in to launch this site.
If you are a visitor, please check back soon.
And if I try and log in it just takes me to the domain management page where there is no place to "set up" anything with regards to the site
Can you give me the url of your site, so that i can figure out what might be the problem.
There might be a problem with redirection.
Are you using wordpress? (I am asking this because there may be a easy solutions for wordpress site)
Please answer me the following,
Are you using cpanel/linux or other?
Are you using any CMS like wordpress?
Please provide these details. So that i can figure out.
No to any of those. It's Deluxe Web Hosting Windows. If I go to My Products/SSL Certificates/Manage the only options I see are Rekey & Manage and History. Download is greyed out
Sorry for wasting your time. I cannot figure out what happened. Please contact support https://in.godaddy.com/contact-us.aspx
Generally the button is for downloading the issued files that need to be installed to a third party hosting server. If the SSL was issued for a domain using godaddy hosting, the installation is automatically completed for you so there is nothing to be downloaded (hence the button being grayed out).
