The @ Symbol Query

Hello all

Please forgive such a basic question. Really just hoping someone can give this a quick positive nod that my understanding is correct.

We need to amend the IP address of an A record on the portal. Looking at all the records under the domain name, at the top we have a record simply for: @, then the IP address.

Is my understanding correct that this is a pointer to the root domain name itself?

For example:

- The root domain name is: example.com

- We have an @ record with an IP address 1.1.1.1

...this means example.com resolves to 1.1.1.1?

Thank you.

That is correct, the @ symbol represents your domain in the DNS.
