Redirecting a domain to Subdomain with CName and A Record

Hi,

I am trying to redirect my domain e.g. www.domain1.com to  domain1.backup.com.

Let's suppose I have www.domain1.com and www.backup.com and I already created domain1.backup.com

I created A record and CNAME  in domain1 DNS to point to backup.com

A - @ -  IP of backup domain
CNAME - www - domain1.backup.com

The problem is when I type www.domain1.com it shows ("Future home of something quite cool." ) Message. Also I want to keep showing www.domain1.com in URL without using masking.

let me know if you need more information.

Thanks in advance

It seems you would want to point the domain to a hosting plan instead of redirecting to another domain.  If you have a one-website plan this would need to be upgraded to a multi-website plan.

Instead of redirecting the domains to their respective sub-domains, you can add the domains to your hosting plan and associate them with the appropriate folder.

Thanks for your reply. I have multi hosting account on Godaddy.

Let me give more details on this. If I have www.domain1.com, www.domain2.com and www.domain3.com. I want to redirect all domains to their respective subdomains Like domain1.backup.com, domain2.backup.com and domain3.backup.com.

But I do not want to show subdomains to the user. User will see www.domain1.com in url but actually it's hitting domain1.backup.com.

Regards.

Is "backup.com" just an example or do you literally mean "backup.com"?

Backup.com is just for explaining.

Thanks
