Pointing to a website built on GoDaddy

Dear Sirs

I have a UK domain, the DNS and email servers are with GCI outsourcery. I would like to build a website on Godaddy and make it go live, while keeping the DNS and email servers with GCI. I have been advised that the way to do this would be by 'pointing'.

I have previously been unable to activate a website on Wix using the same method, as they require that the C-name and A-record with GCI both need to be changed to point at them. Changing both of these records is something that GCI cannot do, as they can apparently only amend the A-record.

Accordingly, could you please advise whether changing the A record with GCI would be sufficient to point at Godaddy and therefore activate the website, and also what the A record value should be changed to?

Thank you for your time.

Sam

Yes, if you're using the current website builder from GoDaddy you can find the IP address in step 8 of this article.  If you're using a different product and need help finding the IP address let us know.
