Masked/ Unmasked forwarding not sending anything to the right of /

EXAMPLE

This takes a second to explain so bare with me.

domain example.com is my primary...And all domains I have point to folders of this primary domain.

created a New domain in my panel, call it doggies.com

I created a folder on the example.com/users/doggies.com

The issue. If GOOGLE requires me to have a file in that folder I place it there.

(example.com/users/doggies.com/sitemap.xml)

When I go to the link that google wants doggies.com/sitemap.xml the word sitemap.xml goes away. and ends up www.doggies.com no sitemap.xml

so I remaped it without masking and it does the same. If I type doggies.com/sitemap.xml  it forwards to example.com/users/doggies.com/ no sitemap.xml

Anything trailing the / gets removed. This is new as of a few months ago, this year. btw 10 years with godaddy so far.

Set up forwarding to handle this both Masked and UnMasked and still the new issue is there

You need to note, a few days ago I had some domains without this issue but once I updated there forwarding, the problem arose for them as well.

Thanks for any help at all on this very frustrating problem!!

Re: Masked/ Unmasked forwarding not sending anything to the right of /

Don't use forwarding/masking.  Add the domain(s) to your hosting account and make sure they are pointing to the proper IP address.

Re: Masked/ Unmasked forwarding not sending anything to the right of /

Thank you. That solved it and for those like me that like things spelled out.

I removed the Web Forwarding. Refreshed the page. I could then edit the A Record.

For each domain, changed the A Record to my IP Address where Example.com is.

On the server of Example.com I found in Apache/conf/extra folder a file called httpd-vhosts.conf

I found <VirtualHost *> and made these entries (All.com's are examples)

<VirtualHost *>
 DocumentRoot "C:\WEB\htdocs\users\doggies.com"
 ServerName doggies.com
 ServerAlias www.doggies.com
 <Directory "C:\WEB\htdocs\users\doggies.com">
 Order allow,deny
 Allow from all
 </Directory>

<VirtualHost *>
 DocumentRoot "C:\WEB\htdocs\users\cats.com"
 ServerName cats.com
 ServerAlias www.cats.com
 <Directory "C:\WEB\htdocs\users\cats.com">
 Order allow,deny
 Allow from all
 </Directory>
</VirtualHost>

Went to my Command Prompt and changed directory to

apache/bin

and typed httpd.exe -t

It stated that my syntax was OK

I restarted apache server and now everything works great.

Cheers
