Linking GoDaddy domain to Google Site

Hello,

I have a have a GoDaddy domain name and have also built a webpage on Google Sites. I have followed the instructions to link the two, however, when I type the website address: www.francerugbyworldcup.com I am taken to a GoDaddy page saying that GoDaddy has parked this site for Free and appears to be offering to sell me this domain name.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

From others that I have helped my understanding of this is

Step 1) Setup the WWW to the CNAME/A record that Google has provided you

Step 2) In GoDaddy setup the domain to forward to https://www.domain.com

In your case this would be https://www.francerugbyworldcup.com

Re: Linking GoDaddy domain to Google Site

Thank you for the help. I have managed to sort out the linking of the two.

I have now run into the problem of my browser telling me the site is unsafe when I attempt to test the link. It says that the site does not have a certificate.

Any suggestions of rectifying this?

Re: Linking GoDaddy domain to Google Site

The first option is to do the forward as HTTP instead of HTTPS

The other option is to ask Google about having the domain be secure I thought that they automatically provided that but I may be incorrect you would need to look up something along the lines of Google site and SSL
